Biography

The Life and Artistic Journey of Cosimo Allera

Cosimo Allera was born in Gioia Tauro on May 22, 1962. Son of a skilled iron artisan, from a young age he developed a deep affinity with this material, working in his father's workshop.

After obtaining a surveyor's diploma, Allera decided to fully dedicate himself to sculpture, perfecting his technique and transforming iron and bronze into innovative and expressive works of art.

In 1984, Allera made his debut in the art world by participating in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, receiving broad recognition from critics and the public.

His works stand out for their ability to evoke deep emotions and for the innovative use of iron, a material traditionally considered not very ductile. Among his most famous creations are "Acutis" Parco Sculture RespirArt - Pampeago (TN), "L' Ombra della Sera" MuSaBa - Mammola (RC) in collaboration with Nik Spatari, “Cristo” Santuario Cuore Immacolato di Maria Rifugio delle Anime - Paravati (VV), “Homage to Umberto Boccioni” Corso Garibaldi - Reggio Calabria (RC) that reflect the challenges and hopes of our time.

The art of Cosimo Allera does not follow trends, but explores new expressive paths, inviting the viewer to overcome daily selfishness and contribute to a more human and sincere culture. Through his sculptures, Allera aims to communicate with the public, enriching the cultural heritage and promoting a strong social commitment. His works, exhibited in numerous prestigious contexts, testify to a continuous artistic research and a deep reflection on the human condition.

Allera has participated in various symposia and has received numerous awards for his contribution to art, consolidating his reputation as one of the leading contemporary Italian sculptors.

Allera's approach to sculpture is characterized by a balance between ethics and style, animating surreal elements and challenging the conventions of contemporary art. His works address existential and social themes, using iron to express the density and dramatic nature of the human condition.
Cosimo Allera continues to live and work in Gioia Tauro, where his artistic commitment contributes to raising the local culture and promoting a greater human understanding through art.
